Frequently asked questions

What would you like to know?

Search a question or choose a topic below. These answers provide an overview; exact configurations and delivery plans can be discussed with our team.

Browse all questions below.

01 Exam delivery modes

What examination modes does Digi Parikshak support?+

Digi Parikshak supports web-based examinations, LAN/PXE offline computer-based tests, campus-lab exams using a local server, and paperless tablet-based digital examinations. Institutions can discuss end-to-end delivery or select standalone modules.

Can we conduct online exams for remote and on-campus candidates?+

Yes. The web-based exam platform is designed for remote/home and on-campus candidates. Available controls and proctoring levels can be selected according to the exam requirements.

Can examinations run without active internet connectivity?+

LAN/PXE and campus-lab modes are designed for controlled intranet or local-server environments without requiring active internet for the candidate exam session. The appropriate setup depends on the institution's network and security requirements.

Can an institution use its existing computer labs?+

The campus-lab mode is designed to work with existing computer-lab infrastructure and the institution's local server. Technical readiness and compatibility should be reviewed before deployment.

What response types can candidates submit?+

Supported response types include MCQs, descriptive answers, image-based responses and file uploads. The exact configuration can be confirmed for your assessment.

Can we schedule exams and arrange mock tests?+

The web-based platform includes scheduling and rescheduling options, as well as mock tests to check device and system readiness before an examination.

02 Evaluation & results

What is On-Screen Marking (OSM)?+

OSM digitises the evaluation of scanned answer books. Evaluators can mark answers on screen using annotation and scoring tools, while institutions manage allocation, moderation, progress tracking and result processing through a traceable workflow.

Can evaluators check answer scripts from different locations?+

OSM supports digital evaluation, reducing reliance on physical movement of answer books. Authorised access and evaluation arrangements are configured around the institution's workflow.

Does OSM support moderation, re-evaluation and photocopy requests?+

The OSM workflow includes moderation and review, and digital handling of re-evaluation, photocopy and grievance requests. These steps can be aligned with institutional examination rules.

What is OMR processing? Do we need a special scanner?+

OMR processing evaluates objective multiple-choice answer sheets. Key OMR capabilities include support for standard flatbed or ADF scanners, image/PDF uploads, validated answer keys and result generation with audit-ready logs. Scanner suitability should be checked against expected volume and sheet format.

Can OMR identify blank or double-marked responses?+

Yes. OMR includes bubble detection and error checks for cases such as blank responses and double marking, along with barcode/QR tracking and anomaly-detection features.

How does paperless digital examination work?+

Students write on digital tablets using a stylus. Scripts are securely uploaded, organised for faculty access and evaluated digitally with annotation and mark entry. This reduces printing, physical paper handling and scanning; device and rollout needs should be planned with the team.

Can we track evaluation progress and download reports?+

OSM includes a live CoE dashboard, subject-wise progress, evaluator summaries, moderation insights, annotated scripts and re-evaluation logs. Available report formats and access can be confirmed during planning.

03 Security, proctoring & identity

What proctoring options are available for online exams?+

Digi Parikshak offers four proctoring options: basic secure exam controls, AI proctoring, AI with super-proctor/hybrid oversight, and AI with dedicated live human proctoring. The suitable level depends on the exam's risk profile and supervision needs.

What does the secure lockdown browser help control?+

Lockdown controls are intended to restrict activities such as tab switching, screen sharing and virtual-machine use. Supported controls should be validated against candidate devices and the agreed setup.

Can suspicious activity be flagged during an exam?+

AI-assisted monitoring can flag events such as face mismatch, an additional person, a mobile phone or tab switching. Human proctors can review incidents and intervene where live supervision is included.

Are biometric verification and attendance supported?+

Yes. Services include biometric authentication and attendance, photo/face matching, ID verification and trained biometric operators. Capture methods depend on the centre setup and institution's requirements.

Can we monitor multiple exam centres centrally?+

The surveillance and LAN/PXE offerings describe centralised dashboards for multi-centre visibility, CCTV monitoring, centre readiness, system status, alerts and escalation. The monitoring plan depends on exam scope and locations.

Are exam actions and incidents recorded for audit purposes?+

Audit trails, activity timestamps, incident logs, exception tracking and reporting are described across supported workflows. Data access, retention and reporting arrangements should be agreed for each project.

How are question papers and responses protected in LAN/PXE exams?+

The LAN/PXE model describes encrypted question papers, time-bound unlock keys, split-key workflows, encrypted response packaging and logs for encryption/decryption events. Implementation details should be reviewed during security planning.

04 Technology, AI & integrations

What does the AI Question Paper Generator do?+

It helps faculty generate papers aligned with syllabus, Bloom's Taxonomy, difficulty levels, section weightage and marking schemes. Supported formats include MCQs, short/long answers, case studies and true/false, with faculty review before approval.

Can it create multiple sets or bilingual papers?+

The AI Question Paper Generator supports A/B/C sets with controlled randomisation and bilingual question generation in English and Hindi. Faculty can review, edit, replace, reorder or regenerate questions before exporting the final paper.

Can we upload syllabi, templates or previous question papers?+

The AI Question Paper Generator supports uploading syllabus documents, templates and past papers in DOCX/PDF formats. The provided material is used as part of the paper-generation workflow, subject to the agreed configuration.

Does Digi Parikshak support API integrations and multiple languages?+

API integrations and multi-language support are listed in the service portfolio. Specific systems, data fields, language needs and integration scope should be reviewed with the technical team before feasibility is confirmed.

Can user roles and permissions be configured?+

Role-based access can be configured for roles such as Admin, Proctor, Evaluator and Controller, along with client login options. Exact permissions and dashboard visibility are agreed during implementation.

05 Operations, manpower & engagement

Can Digi Parikshak manage operations as well as provide software?+

Yes. The portfolio combines software platforms, infrastructure, certified manpower and nationwide operations. Services include centre operations, surveillance, logistics, biometric support and result processing. Institutions can request complete delivery or selected modules.

What types of examination staff can be deployed?+

Available examination staff may include system administrators, lab supervisors, chief invigilators, observers, biometric operators and frisking/security staff, including dedicated female staff for appropriate roles. Staffing depends on the exam schedule, centre layout and responsibilities.

Are centre audits and readiness checks available before exam day?+

Centre audits and readiness support are part of the portfolio. Depending on the selected mode, this can include site-readiness checks, mock drills, server/system preparation, network/CCTV checks and readiness verification.

Can Digi Parikshak support exams across multiple cities?+

Digi Parikshak’s service portfolio describes nationwide operations, with reported execution across 145+ cities. Share locations, candidate count, schedule and service needs so the team can assess deployment feasibility.

How is pricing calculated? Can we start with a pilot?+

Pricing depends on selected services, candidate volume, number of centres, exam duration, security/proctoring level, manpower and operational scope. Flexible engagement options may be available for pilots, semester rollouts and large-scale examinations. Contact the team for a tailored proposal; no fixed rate is assumed here.

What information should we share to request a demo or proposal?+

Share your organisation and contact details, exam type, approximate candidate volume, preferred dates, number/location of centres, delivery mode, evaluation needs, required security level and whether you need software only or end-to-end operations.
